What makes Joyryder different from a spin class at another gym?
We ride to the beat of the music the entire class and include an upper body workout with small weights (also to the beat of the music). Our classes address the entire body with a mindfulness that includes a healthy heart and soul.
How early should I arrive?
Please arrive 15 minutes early to get checked in and set up on your bike. We will help find the best custom bike settings just for you.
Do I need special shoes for an indoor cycling class or can I just ride in sneakers?
Riding in sneakers is not an option at Joyryder. We do not offer shoe cages for safety reasons and believe wearing cycling shoes will provide the best and safest workout experience. Our pedals support both SPD and LOOK cleats. If you don’t have cycling shoes, no problem. We rent shoes for $2 so you can clip in and have one hellova workout!
What kind of clothes should I wear?
Typical workout wear is ideal. We suggest wearing a light top like a t-shirt or tank top and leggings or shorts.
Where can I stash my stuff while I’m in class?
We provide lockers with custom locks so you can securely store your belongings without the hassle of bringing our own lock.
What about towels and water?
We provide complimentary towels, so no need to worry about bringing your own! We sell bottled water for $2 at the front desk or you can bring your own bottle and fill ‘er up at our filtered bottle filling station.
Is there a place for me to freshen up after my workout?
Our studio is equipped with showers, bathrooms, changing rooms and a blow dry bar. Please feel free to use any or all of these facilities should you need to shower before work or class. Please be aware that our studio caters to both male and female clients so locker and common areas are shared by all genders.
If I’m pregnant, can I ride at Joyryder?
We encourage expecting mothers to stay fit and healthy during their pregnancy and would love to have you join us, but please do so ONLY under the recommendation of your doctor.
What is the minimum age and height to take a Joyryder class?
You can come ride with us as long as you are at least 12 years old. Anyone under the age of 18 will need a parent or guardian to sign off permission (in person). Due to the manufacturer recommendations of our bikes and to ensure rider safety, we ask that riders be at least 4’ll”.
Is parking available at the studio?
There is street parking along Lodge Street and surrounding streets. Biltmore Village lots are also available. Please be courteous of our neighbors and refrain from parking in their spaces. Vehicles parked at Rezaz and in assigned spots behind 14 Lodge Street are subject to strict parking rules and can be towed at owner’s expense. Please be wise and arrive early to provide yourself ample time to find a suitable space.
Do you offer a beginner spinning workout?
We know there is a first time for everything, and we will take good care of you at Joyryder. A Joyryde is an all-inclusive experience and we have beginner riders in every class. The more you ride, the easier it becomes and the more FUN it gets! If it’s your first time, take the pressure off and try to have fun and pay attention to what your body needs in the moment.
